Are you passionate about pets and have an audience of loving dog and cat owners?The Basics Affiliate Program was created to reward our supporters for helping us spread the word about Basics products and our mission. You can earn money by sharing our message through your social media channels, website or newsletter. Ideal partners include social media personalities, bloggers, content publishers, enthusiastic fans and more.



All you need to do is sign up as an affiliate, wait for your application to be approved, and then share a special link or coupon code with your audience. We pay a starting commission rate of 10%. Higher volume affiliates will eligible for commission up to 25%.  Cookie duration is 60 days.


What is the Basics Affiliate Program and how does it work?

The Basics Affiliate Program allows participating individuals and organizations to earn commission on product sales you help generate at Our online platform provide you special tracking links and coupon codes that allow us to determine when a customer on our site was referred by you. When that customer makes a purchase, we pay you a commission on the sale.

How do I sign up?

You must first submit an application at the link above. Once we have a chance to review your information we will contact you with next steps.

Am I eligible to participate?

We accept applications from social media personalities, websites and newsletters that share content relevant to our target audience. We will not accept applications from any outlet that contains objectionable or offensive materials, an outlet that is not based in the USA or any outlet that does not appear to have a large audience of pet owners. We welcome all applications but reserve the right to refuse membership or revoke a membership at any time at our sole discretion.

What is your commission rate?

We pay a 10% starting commission rate. Affiliates are eligible for commission increases depending volume, length of participation and the quality of referrals. All commissions over 10% will be up to Basics’ sole discretion.

When and how do I get paid?

Each month, Basics will pay you for your commissions earned the previous month. Payments will be made by either check, direct deposit or via PayPal. Your account needs to have a balance of $50 on more before the end of the month in order to receive a payment. If you do not meet the $50 minimum, the balance will roll forward until the $50 minimum is reached and we can issue a payment.

What is your cookie policy?

Basics has a 60-day cookie policy. To put it simple, if a visitor comes to our website through your link but does not purchase on that visit, you can still earn commission on sales from that customer if they return and make a purchase within 60 days. This works no matter how the customer comes back to our site as long as they have not cleared their browser cookies.

Are there any fees or sign-up costs?

No, there are no fees associated with becoming a Basics affiliate.

Can I become an affiliate if I live outside the United States?

No, not right now.

Is there a minimum commission I need to earn?

There is no minimum sales level required to remain in the program, but you will not receive a commission check until you earn $50 in commission.

I do not have a social media presence, website or newsletter. Can I still become an affiliate?

Yes, we have multiple affiliates that have signed up to help sell our product directly to consumers and organizations via word of mouth advertising. This type of affiliate sale may take more effort, but it can still be very rewarding. Basics offers affiliates the ability to generate referrals from links, coupon codes and order made by contacting us directly (typically orders with a quantity over 25 units).

Do I receive any discounts on Basics’ products since I’m an affiliate?

No. However we do recommend you purchase product for your pets through your own links so you can earn commission on the sales.

Can I use content from the Basics site on my channels?

Although we will provide certain images and other content for affiliates to promote, you may also use other media from our website in the promotion of our products. However, all images must be attributed and/or used in conjunction the sale of our product through the Affiliate Program. Please remember all of the content on the Basics website is protected by copyright. The images cannot be used in the general design of your website. If you have a special circumstance that requires the use of any photos, product images or content in a manner that is not consistent with the policy stated above, please contact us for written approval prior to the content’s use.

How do I know I have been accepted into the affiliate program?

Once your application has been submitted correctly, you should receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive this email, please check your spam folder. Otherwise, you might not have finished the process correctly and you should resubmit your application. Once approved, you will receive a welcome email from the affiliate manager.

How do I create links to

When you are approved as an affiliate, our affiliate portal will give you easy access to your unique links and coupon codes.

Am I obligated to promote a certain amount of content on my social media channel or website?

No, but we do encourage you to post a link or promote a product as often as you feel appropriate for your audience. It is important to remember that every audience is different. For this reason, we leave it up to you to determine the balance between maximizing conversion rates and annoying your audience.

How does the affiliate system know I should receive credit for an order?

Our system works by tracking cookies stored in a user’s browser or by the customer’s use of a coupon code at checkout. A cookie is a small tag that is automatically stored by the computer of a person who clicks on a link that is associated with your affiliate ID. Each coupon or link that you create is specifically tagged with your unique affiliate ID. You can test a link by copying and pasting it into your browser. If you are directed to the Basics website, the link is working. Do not copy and paste a general URL from our website as it will not track properly.

What sales and other reports do you provide?

Each transaction is stored within Basics’ affiliate tracking system and is available for your review when logged in to the portal. The system will provide real-time tracking of your clicks, sales and commission.

How do product returns affect my commission?

If a customer returns a product for a refund, or if credit card charges are reversed due to a dispute or credit card fraud, your account will be debited the commission. The good news is that returns and fraud are actually quite rare.
